The Turn, the sacred dance of the Whirling Dervishes, is a moving meditation and an embodied prayer possessing a most ferocious power.

Learning the Turn is a process of spiritual alchemy. It engages all planes of our being and has deep and lasting effects on our whole life. The Turn is a discipline of body, mind, and Heart/Will… much of what we do in life lets the ego run free but imprisons the soul; the Turn harnesses the ego and frees the soul to know Itself more deeply, for Being to act authentically in life.

This seminar introduces some aspects of the Turn and is intended for anyone who feels called to a deeply embodied form of spiritual practice.

Participants will be introduced to:

• A solid grounding in the technique of the stationary and “walking” Turn. This promotes stamina, balance and stability without dizziness, and smooth subtle-energy flow and opening of the subtle centers.
• How the Divine Breath moves in the Turn, and using the Breath to harmonize our balance of action and receptivity
• Integrating the “inner Turn” into daily life

You need not desire to learn the physical Turn to benefit from this seminar.

Hafizullāh has walked, stumbled, crawled, and danced the Sufi path since 1976. He is a Sufi elder and lineage-holder (shaikh) and represents the Ināyati Order as a senior teacher and mentor of teachers-in-training. He studied the Turn with the Mevlevi Dervishes for over twenty years and received permission to teach it in 1992. His passion is sharing in sacred space and spiritual practice with those who are awakening.
